Properties worth millions of naira were lost in an early morning fire incident in the Bariga area of Lagos on Tuesday.

The fire started very early, Tuesday morning, at 43 Shogbamu Street, New Garage, Bariga. A statement from the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, said the fire was caused by an electrical surge from an electronics shop.

Reacting to the incident, LASEMA General Manager, Mr. Michael Akindele, advised Lagosians to always ensure that all electrical appliances were switched off at the close of work and when not in use at home.
