LASTMAN Warns Filling Station Owners And Motorist

The management of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned motorists in the state to stop the habit of causing traffic gridlock on the roads in the name of buying fuel at filling stations.

This warning was given by the management of the Agency at a meeting today with the filling stations owners and other stakeholders. Speaking at the Oshodi headquarters of the Agency, the Chief Executive Officer of LASTMA Chris Olakpe warned that the Agencywould henceforth apprehend and fine accordingly any vehicle blocking the passage of other vehicles on roads in the state. According to him, the main carriageway is not an extension of filling stations and therefore motorist buying fuel must respect the rights of other road users.

He also urged owners of filling stations to maximise the use of all pumps and facilities available in order to eliminate queue outside their petrol stations. And that any filling station and motorist that fails to comply with the directive will be dealt with accordingly
