This was the outcome of a meeting held at the instance of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase in Abuja with the aim of ending the feud within the opposition party.
In a statement signed by the Force spokesperson, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, the police boss sued for peace among the warring factions within the party. The statement said both Sheriff and Makarfi’s camp agreed to send delegates who will represent them at a further peace talk.
The statment reads, “After exhaustive deliberations in the meeting that was also attended by the Director-General of Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Musa Daura, each of the factions – Sen Ali Modu Sherif’s and Sen Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi’s-led factions agreed to nominate four representatives each, for peace talks to arrive at a harmonised position within one week; while the PDP Secretariat at Wadata House Plaza and Legacy House should be under lock and key, pending the outcome of the resolution.”
